o What are projections of the value of the dinar over a 1 or 2 year period
§ There is a possibility being first followed by and RV at a later date after the zeros have been pulled in. IMF may have a restriction of 18 months where the initial value must remain constant. If they come out at $5.27, it probably won’t appreciate much further. Will take 5 to 7 years for them to develop infrastructure before they can get all the oil sold. Could we be seeing an unofficial RI at 3.22 with an unofficial timeframe allowing what is happening in the ME right now? Then, later see the 6 plus rate at the CBI.
§ Blaino received a lot of intel from bankers. Bankers shared with his friend that the rate will be the 5.27 rate and we should see it Tuesday morning.
§ Okie thinks that they cannot come out at a high rate because of the shock the surrounding countries will feel. On the flip side, the high rate will incentivize foreign investors. There is probably an equilibrium there somewhere, but he doesn’t know where it is

Recall not long ago that the WTO said that Iraq needed to close the gap between their currency and the US dollar. That's basically an RI/RV. It may take a while for Iraq to regain their status in the WTO, but closing the gap is something they must do prior to achieving the status of membership they desire in the WTO.

1-16-11 Jordan bank info

There are 2 rumors associated with the Jordan bank information. The first is the $3.22 that was appearing on their site. The second is related to people exchanging their IQD. The first rumor is pretty much debunked. The second rumor, however, is somewhat controversial because there are some who can vouch for the exchanges and others who can vouch it never happened.
With regards to the second rumor, I myself choose to believe it is not false. Based on what I've been told about someone's first hand experience, I'm sticking with the idea that the rumors about the ME and the banks are true. This supports what I was told from a separate source a couple weeks ago about the RV starting. Please note that I was not told that it RVd. I was told it started, and this is before all of the news of the banks in the ME that broke out recently. At the time, I didn't know what "started" meant, but I do now. You must decide for yourselves which you believe, but that's where I'm at.
Given that, in another posting, I alluded to their being at least 2 thoughts around the RV and where we stand. In one camp, you have those that believe the government must be formed and the budget must be completed. Then, there's the other camp that believes the RV has begun (what we are seeing in the ME). Because I'm in the second camp, I believe that it is possible we may see the RV before the budget and the formal announcement of the government are completed. It could also turn out that the two combine and we see everything at the same time. It all remains to be seen.
I hope this helps some of you sort out your own position in regards to where we stand right now.

There are many who believe that when the CBI has an auction, we won't see an RV the same day. Since there was an auction today, they would be inclined to believe there will be no RV today.

If you've read any of Frank26's postings, you know that he thinks the Kurds are in control of this whole thing. If they have issues, we'll need to wait until they get this sorted out before this budget comes to close. The budget is also another item that many think must be completed prior to the RV. There have been many delays related to the passing of the budget (present and past).
If you're in the camp that thinks that both the budget and the government must be fully completed, then you won't be watching for the Forex to change today. On the other hand, if you believe that there is a pre-RV going on in the ME right now, you just may want to watch for a change in Forex as it relates to the IQD.

3. In Kuwait, it was said that you must have a minimum of $1 mil Dinar to exchange. The thought is the citizens in Kuwait would turn in the large denominations.

5. Kuwait buys back the large notes for a low price knowing full well it will be worth much more
6. Iraq wants this to be low key, but Americans are bombarding JIB. This results in the JIB bank personnel clamming up
