[******] just got off the phone with a friend on east coast time. he contacted bb&t this a.m. and was told he could bring his dinar in today for deposit. rate would be between $3 & $4. there would be a hold on the funds until they cleared. up to 1 week hold

1-21-11 Expert economic: Likely rise and goods during the week

1. Economic expert suggested that prices of goods will increase during the week of the decision to grant import licenses for all goods and commodities
2. The burden of the increases will be on the consumer
3. There are concerns of corruption between the Ministry of Commerce and the owners of transactions
If citizens are already having to go through the garbage on the streets, how in the world will they be able to afford price increases? Demonstrations have already been held. Hopefully, the pressure from protesting citizens will mount even higher to send the message to the GOI to form now.

1. Lawmaker from the coalition state of law said that Maliki refuses any intervention in the security files because he believes he his exclusive power over the security files
2. Maliki does not want anyone to affect him in the matter of selecting the right candidate
3. The news of giving the ministry of defense to the List is not accurate
4. MP from the List said that Biden is in charge of the security file
5. The lawmaker said that the NA and the List failed to submit their candidates for the ministries of Interior and National Security and Defence after Maliki's submission
I do recall reading at one point that the US would take over the security files.

Baghdad, January 21 (Rn) - An Iraqi lawmaker from a coalition of state law, on Friday, the refusal of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, the intervention of any person file security ministries believing it to be exclusive of his powers.
وقال سعد المطلبي لوكالة كردستان للانباء(اكانيوز) ان" المالكي يعتبر ملف الوزارات الامنية من صلاحياته الحصرية ولا يريد لاحد ان يؤثر عليه في مسالة اختيار الشخصيات المناسبة لتولي تلك الوزارات". Saad al-Muttalibi of the Kurdistan News Agency (AKnews) that "Maliki is a file security ministries of the exclusive powers and does not want anyone to affect him in a matter of choosing the right men to take over these ministries."
واوضح المطلبي ان "الباب مغلق امام الجميع للتدخل بالموضوع وما يطرح في الاعلام من اسماء وتدخلات وترشيحات هي من باب التكهنات لان المالكي الوحيد من يقرر اخيرا بناء على استشارات من دائرة مقربة اليه". He explained that the logistical "the door is closed to all to enter the subject and put in the media of the names and interventions and nominations are a matter of speculation, because only one of al-Maliki finally decides on the advice of the circle close to him."
ووصف المطلبي الانباء التي تتواتر عن اعطاء وزارة الدفاع للقائمة العراقية والداخلية للتحالف الوطني ، بـ"الانباء غير الدقيقة"، مبينا ان "على هذه الكتل ان ترشح شخصيات مستقلة والمالكي هو من يملك حق القبول او الرفض، كما ان كل كتلة من حقها ان ترشح شخصيات مستقلة تعتقد انها كفوءة". The MP for the Iraqi List, said Jamal melon (AKnews) said earlier that U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden will intervene directly to a file cabinet and security selection. ويعد بايدن المسؤول عن الملف العراقي في الادارة الاميركية ومارس دورا ضاغطا باتصالاته المكثفة اثناء تشكيل الحكومة للاتفاق بين الكتل السياسية. Biden is in charge of the Iraqi file and March, the U.S. administration played down his contacts intensified during the formation of the government of the agreement between the political blocs.
