1. Maliki said that those who were responsible for the rioting in the demonstrations came to him and acknowledged his responsibility
2. He said that he will provide the candidates for the security ministries to Parliament next week when the House convenes in its next meeting. He said,"I will not wait for more and hopes to cooperate blocs to an agreement to accept the candidates spent in peace."
3. During a press conference, he said he will direct the presence of corruption in his ministry and prevent recruitment of corrupt individuals in the ministries of the State
4. He said that jobs are open to citizens, but they must go through a process of testing and examination
5. He also said they have asked the House for a speedy resolution of the municipal councils of the districts and areas the demonstrators complained about
6. He noted that some of the municipal councils were appointed 6 years ago and said he supported the call for early elections to provincial councils
7. He also supports the proposal to reduce the retirement and the launch of a new mechanism for appointments of government in order to raise the standard of living for the citizens and eliminate corruption and bad management
8. The remainder of the article offers mainly an historical perspective on the demonstrations as well as discussion on what Maliki and the government intend to do to appease demonstrators

Another article stating Maliki will name the ministers

I have to believe that Maliki will actually hand over the security ministers next week.  He is on record and in public for saying this, and this is now directly linked to the demands of the protesters.  If he does what he normally does, which is not do what he says he will do, I believe the violence will escalate and the protesters will point the finger at Maliki and his broken promise.
