1-20-11 Economic Summit: Arab leaders agree to unify Arab State customs laws and activate WBI

Highlights/Thoughts

1. The Arab League Economic Summit agreed to complete the unification of customs laws in the Arab states by the end of 2012
2. They want to establish the Arab Common Market in 2020
3. The leaders agreed to activate the World Bank Initiative (WBI) for the Arab world, supporting economic cooperation and knowledge sharing across the Arab League nations

This is clearly all about trade. How can Iraq participate in all of this without a globally accepted currency? Perhaps this is why it is being suggested that Iraq complete their government and have a globally accepted currency prior to the March Arab Economic Summit?
